Mitiska REIM, the leading specialist investor in European retail parks, has today announced its entry into the Dutch market, with the acquisition of Retail Centre De Lely in Arnhem on behalf of FRI 2. This latest acquisition follows Mitiska REIM’s successful entry into the German, French, Spanish and Portuguese markets over the past 2 years.
Retail Centre De Lely is located near the city centre of Arnhem, easily accessible, and is the dominant convenience centre in the area, attracting 1.5 million visitors per year. It comprises 15 retail units, anchored by Jumbo and Lidl supermarkets, and has a total gross leasable area of 10,800m2. The site has free parking for 285 cars.
Commenting on the acquisition, Bram Thomas, Mitiska REIM’s Investment Director for Belgium, France and the Netherlands, said: “Retail Centre De Lely is a strong performing site with high customer footfall, well positioned for shoppers’ daily needs by offering three supermarkets and a range of necessity-driven retail brands. Through our value-add investment approach, we see additional opportunities to upgrade the site and the retail mix in the near future.”
Axel Despriet, CEO of Mitiska REIM, said: “We are delighted to have entered the Netherlands with this latest acquisition. Mitiska REIM is now present across ten countries in Central, Western and Eastern Europe, across which we are able to leverage our expertise in both retail operations and real estate, and our strong relationships with leading national and international retail brands.”
Retail Centre De Lely was acquired by FRI 2 from De Hoge Dennen Vastgoed. Mitiska REIM was assisted by Creating Retail Parks and Stibbe during the transaction process. CBRE and Houthoff assisted the Vendor in the sales process.
