Mitiska REIM receives “Very Good” BREEAM certifications for five Romanian retail parks

Mitiska REIM has announced today that five retail parks in the Romanian portfolio have received “Very Good” BREEAM certifications for Asset Performance.

Located in the Romanian cities of Târgu Mureș, Bistrița-Năsăud, Mihai Bravu, Brăila and Buzău, the BREEAM assessment of these five retail parks was a collaboration between Mitiska REIM, sustainability consultancy ADP green building, and our Romanian partner Square 7.

These latest certifications are part of a wider BREEAM assessment programme which is assessing 27 retail parks in view of certification in 2021-2022. To date, one retail park in Wroclaw, Poland, built in 2009 has received a “Good” BREEAM in-use rating, and Mitiska REIM’s new Malinas development in Mechelen, Belgium, has been designed to achieve an “Excellent” BREEAM score.

Sylvie Geuten-Carpentier, Co-CEO of Mitiska REIM, comments: “We are pleased with the growing momentum of our BREEAM certification programme as a means of actively future-proofing our retail park investments across Europe, through initiatives such as renewable energy, LED lighting, increasing green areas and biodiversity, and green leases.”
